On Saturday I finished my first ever triathlon race in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon.  No, this was not the super long one or the Celebrity one, but it was the Olympic distance, which is still pretty respectable.  That's a 1.5k (.9 mi.) swim, then a 40k (24.8 mi.) bike, followed by a 10k (6.2 mi.) run.  I did it about 10 minutes faster than I thought I would, ending up with a 7th place finish in my category...I didn't expect that either!  Now I've got the bug to keep competing and hopefully get a medal soon!  The next one for me looks like it will be on Oct. 12, either in Maui or Hermosa Beach.  The podium is calling my name...
