The Strike
So, I walked the picket lines before the holiday. Show my support for the WGA. There were about 15 SAG members walking with about 30 WGA writers, and everyone was extremely happy to have us out there backing their cause. It’s really our cause, too. Whatever they get for their contract is going to be the standard for what we get, so let’s support them now because this is not going to happen again. This strike has gone on long enough and there will not be another one in the summer when the SAG contract is up.
Anyway, things were pretty cordial until one car decided to cut through a gap in the line and fly right through the crosswalk, almost hitting me in the process. The guy right next to me took a swing at the guy’s car and whacked his taillight with his picket sign. Needless to say, there were some words exchanged, a license plate jotted down, and some phone calls made.
